Inservice Day Poems

I wrote these because I was bored at inservice today. Once again, I'm shamelessly swinging off the beautiful work of William Carlos Williams.

The first one is how I felt, Monday morning, listening to the principal's drone:

So much depends upon
a rusted wheelbarrow
loaded with bricks
sunk in soft white sand




Next, a comment on inservice in general:

So much depends upon
the power-point screen
glowing with . . .
OK--maybe there's really
nothing
depending upon that.

Trout Lake Trail

Once again we retreat into self-restoration on familiar trout hatchery trails.
Dancing Aspens cast green spotlights onto deeply-worn, leaf-strewn paths.
Our boots enjoy the contrasts beneath their soles:
Cold smooth granite, soft moist earth and slippery grizzled tree roots.

so I read most of night and could not sleep is the excuse. took pups out early then slept until nine. have a fete to go to this pm. guess i wil go for awhile,
